Term 2 Week 6

This week I have learned to…

In mathematics this week I have revised how to find percentages of quantities all you have to do is lets say you have to find 100% of a quantity if 38% is 266 then you have to find what 1% is, which you do 266 divided by 38=7 then multiply 7 by 100 and that’s your answer. Or you could have an example like this find 62% of a quantity if 41% is 287 then you find what 1% is which you do 287 divided by 41=7 then multiply it by 62 and that will be your answer.

English: This week in English I have done i can’t remember what its called but it improved my understanding of what I am reading.

Guitar: In guitar I have been learning to play the redemption song and also the song heart of gold.

My goal for this week is to try and get myself into the inter-class soccer.

 

Term 2 Week 5

This week i have learned or revised…

This week in mathematics I have been doing fractions, decimals and percentages. I have been revising how do express answers from fractions to decimals to percentages or vise versa. In tech arts I have done most of my jersey i have finished my hoodie, but it needs to be attached and I have to complete putting the pocket and sleeves on then I am done. Also in math I have done some ratio which is very simple. Lets say you have a ratio of 5:6 engineers and doctors. There are 20 engineers, so how many doctors so what you do is 20 divided by 5 = 4 then you have to do 4 times 6 which equals 24.

My goal for this week is to learn to play A-punk on the bass without doing a mistake and going right through the whole song.

Term 2 Week 1

This week I have learnt…

This week in mathematics I have been simplifying fractions for eg. to simplify fractions all you need to do is lets say the fraction is 10/35 all you need to do is find a common multiple then divide it by the multiple you have found to both of them which the answer is 2/7.

Inquiry This week I have looked at some background information on the holocaust.

My goals: My goal for this week is to excel more on my maths and improve my work habits

Term 2 Goals

My goals for this term is to change my attitude towards English  and reading because I need to improve on both of those subjects. I also have goal to start using better time management better and not waiting till the last minute to get things done. My last goal is an out of school task, but it is to get starting Poing Guard for the Te Awamutu College B team.

Term 1 Reflections

This term was a week longer than usual it was 11 weeks which means that we had to do more work.

My favorite part about this term would have to be that we got into the softball semi finals and that Waipa is coming Second in the interhouse competition. I have learn t quite a lot this year for English I learn t how to punctuate better and learn t what an adjectival phrase is. In maths most of the things I have done has been revised and I have learn t much, but it is always good to revise things.

In reading this term I have been trying to get better at what the writer is trying to infer by doing some inference.

My goal for next term is to have better time management because I haven’t used my time wisely this term even though I finished all my work most of my work was done in like five minuets.

Week Ten Term One

This week I have learn t or revised…

This week in maths I have revised how to do frequency and relatively frequency. To find the frequency and/or relatively frequency, to do this you need to have an example.640 people were chosen at random and asked how many children in their family. Zero children=220 One=205 Two=95 Three=75 Four=55, so now to find the rel. freq all you need to is get 220 in to a fraction 220/640 simplify it 11/16 then turn it into a decimal which would be 0.332 then you work put the rest yourself you.

For English room 3 has been assigned to write a camp recount about one specific time.

 

Wellington Camp 2011

On Sunday the 27 March room 3 hopped on the bus and were on our way to Wellington, but first we had to stop at Waiouru Army Museum and then we stopped at Bulls for a toilet brake.

On Monday we went to the botanical gardens and the Carter observatory. We also went to ontv at the capital E and to the Wellington to learn some things about the Wahine disaster.

On Tuesday we went to the St Pauls Cathedral to have a look around and see the bells. We also went to parliament and had a swim at the H20 Xtreme place.

On Wednesday we went to the Zoo, Te Papa and also went to the sound house which is the same building as the ontv.

On Thursday we went on the ferry to Picton which took about 3 hours to get there and we spent a one and a half hours.

On Friday we traveled back to Te Awamutu Intermediate.

Term 1 Week 8

This week I have learned or revised…

This week in math I have revised integers, if you are wandering what integers are or how to do integers, to do integers all you do is -5+2=-3 because its like 5-2 but its a negative 5 and it is a subtraction. In English I have done a worksheet to improve my ability to reading and understanding it didn’t help to much because it was to easy. We are going on camp in 3 days and I am pretty excited.

My goal for the week is to get my inquiry finished on time or early, so I don’t get work piled on top of me.

 

 

Week 7 Term 1

I have learned…

I have revised this week in math about how to use standard form all you do is write a number with decimals, 6.042 then multiply it by a power of ten, so 6.042×10 to the power of 5 which equals 604200 all your doing is moving the decimal point 5 places, or whatever the power is like if it were 2 it would be 604.2 but if it were -2 it would be 0.06042 because if its negative the number will be smaller but wits positive it will be a bigger number.

Reading I have done a worksheet that was pretty easy and I did really mind it.

My goal for the week is to learn play what of done by Linkin’ park.

Week 4 Term 3

This week I have learned…

Maths this week was quite easy all I learned was how to find the area of a trapezium and a circle to find the area of a trapezium you have to find the average length of the top and the bottom parallel lines, so lets say the top was 8m and the bottom was 16m you would add those together and divide it by two. Then you go base times height lets say the height is 4m you go 4m times 12m and that’s your answer. To find the area of a circle you do Pi times radius² and that’s your answer.

In English for english I learned what a disccusion argument is, a disccusion argument is a argument that has both sides of a argument for and against the topic you are writing about.

For X country in the year 7s I got 14th out of about 100 people I thought I would of got about 33rd but I got 14th which is awesome.

My goal for this week is to win waikato maths with Kate and Tyra. We will do this by working together and slowly going through the questions.
