Week 6 Term 3

This week I have learned…

This week I have revised in math how to find the area and circumference of circles, to find the area what you do is get the radius and multiply it by two then multiply it by Pi (3.14159265358979323…) and the circumference is diameter multiplied by Pi. I did my speech last week and I didn’t make it through to the class finals ( thank god ) because I absolutely hate speeches.

English: this week I have written a persuasive piece of writing about junk food in schools. I have sided with kids who bring junk food to school for a variety of reasons. Yesterday we assessed them.

Week 5 Term 3

This week I have learned…

This week I have revised in math how to find the area and circumference of circles to find the circumference all you do is the find the diameter and multiply it by Pi, and to find the area of a circle you do Pi x R sq.

English I have been working on an argument piece of writing about junk food in schools. We have a criteria that our argument should have all the aspects, like an attention grabbing opening sentence.

P.E- for P.e this week the school has had basketball trials that I have fortunately made into. I have also done the beep test I have unfortunately not gotten a better result.

Goal: My goal this week is to learn how to play scar tissue by the red hot chili peppers on the guitar.

Week 4 Term 3

This week I have learned…

This week I have learned in guitar I learned how to play the Riff of Black Dog by Led Zeppelin which is the most challenging song I wanted to learn which I have half mastered. In Math I have revised how to read a map and I also revised how to do area and perimeter.This week we did pubertal change.

Goal: My goal for this week is to fully master Black dog by Led Zeppelin and also master Sweet Home Alabama by Lynard Skynard.

Term 3 Week 2

This week I have learned/revised…

This week I have revised to perform translations all you have to do is. You have a shape, then you move it 4 right and 2 down to show that you would do (4,-2) and if it were left and up it would be (-4,2). I have also revised how to find interior angles of polygons all you have to do is the n-sided polygon minus 2 then multiply by 180 then divide by n.

English this week I have revised on how to form the structure of a persuasive/argument writing. It goes introduction, 2 or 3 reasons with explanation and finally a conclusion.

In P.E I have learned how to play a new game that is called turbo touch it is similar to touch but turbo touch is a modified version.

My goal for this week is to successfully play the whole song of monster by FTP ( My rock band) at the rock quest.

Term 2 Week 6

This week I have learned to…

In mathematics this week I have revised how to find percentages of quantities all you have to do is lets say you have to find 100% of a quantity if 38% is 266 then you have to find what 1% is, which you do 266 divided by 38=7 then multiply 7 by 100 and that’s your answer. Or you could have an example like this find 62% of a quantity if 41% is 287 then you find what 1% is which you do 287 divided by 41=7 then multiply it by 62 and that will be your answer.

English: This week in English I have done i can’t remember what its called but it improved my understanding of what I am reading.

Guitar: In guitar I have been learning to play the redemption song and also the song heart of gold.

My goal for this week is to try and get myself into the inter-class soccer.

 

Term 2 Week 5

This week i have learned or revised…

This week in mathematics I have been doing fractions, decimals and percentages. I have been revising how do express answers from fractions to decimals to percentages or vise versa. In tech arts I have done most of my jersey i have finished my hoodie, but it needs to be attached and I have to complete putting the pocket and sleeves on then I am done. Also in math I have done some ratio which is very simple. Lets say you have a ratio of 5:6 engineers and doctors. There are 20 engineers, so how many doctors so what you do is 20 divided by 5 = 4 then you have to do 4 times 6 which equals 24.

My goal for this week is to learn to play A-punk on the bass without doing a mistake and going right through the whole song.

Term 2 Goals

My goals for this term is to change my attitude towards English  and reading because I need to improve on both of those subjects. I also have goal to start using better time management better and not waiting till the last minute to get things done. My last goal is an out of school task, but it is to get starting Poing Guard for the Te Awamutu College B team.

Term 1 Reflections

This term was a week longer than usual it was 11 weeks which means that we had to do more work.

My favorite part about this term would have to be that we got into the softball semi finals and that Waipa is coming Second in the interhouse competition. I have learn t quite a lot this year for English I learn t how to punctuate better and learn t what an adjectival phrase is. In maths most of the things I have done has been revised and I have learn t much, but it is always good to revise things.

In reading this term I have been trying to get better at what the writer is trying to infer by doing some inference.

My goal for next term is to have better time management because I haven’t used my time wisely this term even though I finished all my work most of my work was done in like five minuets.

Week Ten Term One

This week I have learn t or revised…

This week in maths I have revised how to do frequency and relatively frequency. To find the frequency and/or relatively frequency, to do this you need to have an example.640 people were chosen at random and asked how many children in their family. Zero children=220 One=205 Two=95 Three=75 Four=55, so now to find the rel. freq all you need to is get 220 in to a fraction 220/640 simplify it 11/16 then turn it into a decimal which would be 0.332 then you work put the rest yourself you.

For English room 3 has been assigned to write a camp recount about one specific time.

 

Wellington Camp 2011

On Sunday the 27 March room 3 hopped on the bus and were on our way to Wellington, but first we had to stop at Waiouru Army Museum and then we stopped at Bulls for a toilet brake.

On Monday we went to the botanical gardens and the Carter observatory. We also went to ontv at the capital E and to the Wellington to learn some things about the Wahine disaster.

On Tuesday we went to the St Pauls Cathedral to have a look around and see the bells. We also went to parliament and had a swim at the H20 Xtreme place.

On Wednesday we went to the Zoo, Te Papa and also went to the sound house which is the same building as the ontv.

On Thursday we went on the ferry to Picton which took about 3 hours to get there and we spent a one and a half hours.

On Friday we traveled back to Te Awamutu Intermediate.
